Fertility & IVF Support

Fertility is influenced by the reproductive health of both the person providing the egg and the person providing the sperm, with nutrition and lifestyle factors playing an important role in preconception health. I provide evidence-based nutrition support for both male and female fertility, whether you are beginning to think about conception, have been trying for some time, or are preparing for or undergoing IVF.

Support is individualised to your circumstances, taking into consideration your current diet, nutritional status, reproductive health, lifestyle and any fertility investigations or treatment you may already be undertaking.

I can support you with:

  • Preconception nutrition for men and women

  • Male fertility and sperm health

  • Female fertility and reproductive health

  • Preparing nutritionally for IVF and assisted reproduction

  • Optimising nutritional status before conception

  • Sperm quality, including count, motility, morphology and DNA fragmentation

  • Ovulatory health and menstrual cycle support

  • PCOS and endometriosis

  • Recurrent pregnancy loss

  • Nutrient deficiencies and nutritional adequacy

  • Weight and metabolic factors that may influence fertility

  • Understanding how nutrition and lifestyle factors may influence fertility and reproductive outcomes

Weight Management

Weight management is complex and influenced by far more than food choices alone. Genetics, hormones, appetite regulation, metabolism, sleep, stress, medications, life stage and our relationship with food can all play a role. Nutrition support should take these factors into consideration rather than simply focusing on eating less or relying on restrictive diets.

My approach considers the wider picture, including your health history, metabolic markers, current medications, dietary intake and previous experiences with weight management. The aim is to develop practical dietary strategies that support both your immediate health needs and longer-term health, without unnecessary restriction.

I can support you with:

  • Individualised nutrition for weight loss and weight management

  • Nutrition support alongside GLP-1 medications

  • Maintaining adequate nutrition when appetite is reduced

  • Protein intake and preservation of muscle mass during weight loss

  • Appetite, hunger and satiety

  • Insulin resistance and blood glucose management

  • Elevated cholesterol and triglycerides

  • High blood pressure and cardiovascular risk factors

  • Metabolic syndrome and associated metabolic health concerns

  • Weight changes associated with perimenopause and menopause

  • Weight management in preparation for pregnancy or fertility treatment

  • Moving away from restrictive dieting and repeated cycles of weight loss and regain

  • Building dietary patterns that support long-term weight and metabolic health

  • Identifying nutritional deficiencies and improving nutritional adequacy

Disordered Eating

Our relationship with food can become complicated, and difficulties with eating do not always fit neatly into a particular diagnosis or definition. For some people, thoughts about food, eating, weight or making the “right” food choices can begin to take up far more time and mental energy than they should, affecting both nutritional wellbeing and everyday life.

Navigating this has also become increasingly difficult in a world of constant social media messaging around food, weight and body image, alongside growing access to weight-loss medications, supplements and restrictive dietary approaches.

Nutrition support begins with taking the time to understand your individual experience, rather than trying to fit it into a particular box. I believe in walking alongside you, offering gentle guidance, practical support and the space to work through what can sometimes feel complicated or overwhelming. It is not about being told what you should or shouldn't eat, but finding a way forward together that feels manageable for you.

I can support you with:

  • Disordered eating behaviours that may not fit neatly within a particular diagnosis

  • Restrictive eating, chronic dieting and increasingly limited food choices

  • Orthorexia-type eating behaviours and preoccupation with eating “clean”, “healthy” or “perfectly”

  • Binge eating, overeating and cycles of restriction and overeating

  • Food rules, food avoidance and anxiety around particular foods

  • Feeling overwhelmed or preoccupied by food, eating and dietary choices

  • Improving nutritional adequacy, dietary variety and regular eating patterns

  • Weight and body image concerns that influence eating

  • Menstrual changes associated with low energy availability, restrictive eating or high levels of exercise

  • Nutrition and fuelling around exercise and physical activity

  • Navigating nutrition while using weight-loss medications

  • Nutrition support alongside your wider healthcare team where appropriate

Reproductive Health Support

Reproductive health changes throughout our lives, from the onset of menstruation and the reproductive years through to perimenopause and menopause. Nutrition can play an important supportive role at each of these stages. Dietary patterns, nutritional status and lifestyle factors may influence hormonal and menstrual health, while also playing a role in the management of reproductive conditions and supporting health as our reproductive needs change over time.

I take the time to understand where you are in your reproductive life and what you are experiencing. From there, we can look more closely at your diet and nutritional status, consider where nutrition and lifestyle changes may be helpful, and work alongside any investigations, medical care or treatment already in place.

I can support you with:

  • Adolescent menstrual health and support

  • Irregular, absent, painful or heavy periods

  • Premenstrual symptoms and PMS

  • Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly PCOS

  • Endometriosis and adenomyosis

  • Hormonal and menstrual changes throughout the reproductive years

  • Symptom support during perimenopause and menopause

  • Insulin resistance and metabolic changes associated associated with reproductive issues

  • Bone, cardiovascular and metabolic health across reproductive life stages

  • Understanding how nutrition and lifestyle factors may influence reproductive health
