Meet Skye

Science guides the recommendations. Compassion shapes the care.

For Skye, good nutrition care is about more than scientific evidence alone. It's about understanding the individual behind the referral, pathology results or diagnosis. By combining scientific evidence with careful listening, clinical insight and compassion, every consultation becomes an opportunity to develop nutrition strategies that are practical, meaningful and tailored to the individual.

Whether supporting fertility, reproductive health, weight management or disordered eating, her goal is to help clients feel informed, supported and confident in the decisions they make about their health.

The Foundation of the Practice

Every stage of Skye's career has contributed to the way she supports her clients today. Academic experience, specialised postgraduate training, public health and health writing have each broadened the perspective she brings to every consultation, shaping an approach to nutrition that combines scientific evidence with practical, personalised recommendations.

Academic Experience

Skye has lectured in clinical nutrition, developed undergraduate and postgraduate nutrition curriculum, and taught and supervised clinical nutrition students throughout their clinical placements. Through her teaching and curriculum development, she has contributed to the education of many of today's clinical nutrition professionals.

Working in higher education required staying at the forefront of emerging nutrition research, critically evaluating new evidence and translating it into teaching and clinical practice. This experience continues to shape the way she supports clients, helping them understand not only what recommendations are made, but why.

Specialised Postgraduate Study

Building on undergraduate qualifications in clinical nutrition, Skye has completed postgraduate study in Sexual & Reproductive Medicine, Obesity & Weight Management, and Eating Disorders & Obesity (EDOC). These fields of study are not currently available as dedicated Australian postgraduate programs in the same combination or depth.

This distinct breadth of study offers an integrated understanding of male and female reproductive health, fertility, cardiometabolic health, body weight, eating behaviours and hormonal function. Recognising these connections supports practical, personalised nutrition recommendations that consider the whole person rather than a single condition in isolation.

Health Writing

Helping people understand how nutrition influences health has been a defining part of Skye's career. From developing undergraduate and postgraduate university curriculum and patient education resources to writing newspaper articles and her forthcoming book, The Male Fertility Guide: An Evidence-Based Approach to Sperm Health and Reproductive Function Through Nutrition, Diet and Lifestyle, the focus has always been on translating scientific evidence into practical, meaningful information that people can understand and apply.

This experience continues to shape the way Skye supports clients, helping them feel informed and confident throughout their health journey. Every recommendation is explained clearly, allowing clients to understand not only what is recommended, but why it matters and how it applies to their individual circumstances.

Public Health & Advocacy

Skye has contributed to public health through nutrition education, community programs and leadership within Fundación Comer Mejor, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preventing childhood obesity in vulnerable communities. She has also contributed to patient education through health writing for Health Union's endometriosis platform, supporting access to evidence-based information for individuals living with chronic health conditions.

These experiences reinforced that nutrition recommendations are only helpful if they can be applied in everyday life. They highlighted the many factors that influence health behaviours, while also demonstrating the remarkable impact that small, sustainable changes can have over time. This understanding continues to shape the way Skye supports clients, developing practical, personalised nutrition strategies that reflect the person, not just the diagnosis.

Evidence Hub

A collection of articles exploring the research behind fertility, reproductive health, weight management and nutrition. Written for both patients and clinicians, each article takes a closer look at the evidence and what it may mean in clinical practice and everyday life.

How long does it take to imporve sperm health?

Understanding the stages of sperm maturation will help you make informed decisions about what to do, and when to do it, to best support sperm health and fertility.

Natural Folate: Can food meet your needs?

Folate plays an important role in both male and female fertility, but not all forms are processed in the same way. I explore natural food folate, folic acid, and how genetics and other nutrients can influence folate metabolism.

Inositol and Ovulation: What Does the Evidence Tell Us?

Inositol is commonly recommended to support ovulation, particularly in women with PCOS, but how strong is the evidence behind its use? I take a closer look at what the research tells us about inositol, ovulatory function.

Your consultation journey

Every recommendation begins with understanding your health, your goals and the bigger picture. From there, a personalised nutrition support plan is carefully developed to reflect your individual needs, lifestyle and circumstances.

01 Initial Consult

Building a Complete Clinical Picture Sometimes the information gathered during your consultation identifies areas where a little more information may be helpful. This may include reviewing existing pathology in more detail, recommending additional pathology or functional testing, or referring you to your GP or another healthcare professional where appropriate. Not every client will require additional investigations. Recommendations are guided by your individual circumstances and the information already available, ensuring your nutrition support plan is based on the clearest possible understanding of your health.

02 Nutrition Support Plan

Designed Specifically for You Following your consultation, time is dedicated to carefully reviewing all of the information discussed before developing your personalised plan. Recommendations are tailored to your individual needs and may include dietary strategies, meal planning, lifestyle recommendations, practitioner-only supplements or individually compounded nutritional prescriptions where appropriate. Every recommendation is explained clearly, helping you understand not only what is recommended, but why.

03 Pathology & Investigation

Understanding the Bigger Picture Your initial consultation is an opportunity to explore your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, dietary habits, medications, supplements and health goals. Existing pathology results are reviewed before or during your consultation to help identify patterns, answer questions and determine whether any additional investigations may be beneficial. This is your opportunity to share your story, ask questions and discuss the concerns that matter most to you. Taking the time to understand the bigger picture helps ensure every recommendation reflects your individual health, circumstances and goals.

Supporting Lasting Change Making changes to the way you eat and care for your health doesn't always happen in a straight line, and that's completely normal. Follow-up consultations provide a space to celebrate progress, work through challenges, answer questions and adjust your nutrition plan as your needs change. For some people, occasional follow-up is all that's needed. Others appreciate more regular guidance and gentle accountability as they build new habits Together, we'll decide what feels right for you, with follow-up consultations tailored to your individual circumstances and the level of support you need.
